How It Works

The Technology

AquaHike filters are crafted using thousands of hollow fibre membrane tubes, the same advanced technology used in kidney dialysis. Each tube is lined with microscopic pores, just 0.1 microns in diameter. When dirty water enters these tubes, clean water is able to pass through the pores, while contaminants like bacteria, parasites, sediment, and dirt are blocked due to their larger size. This ensures that the water that emerges is safe and clean. AquaHike filters can remove 99.9999% of bacteria and parasites, including Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and E. coli, providing you with peace of mind on all your adventures.

What Do Water Filters Remove?

AquaHike filters are designed to eliminate 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and parasites from non-salt water sources that could make you sick, including Giardia, Cryptosporidium, E. coli, and Salmonella. With a pore size of 0.1 microns, the filters remove anything larger, although they do not remove salt, chemicals, dissolved solids, or viruses smaller than 0.1 microns.
